The Waiting Walk

An intentional journey of practically walking with God while actively waiting on Him.

About

Hello!

I’m Elizabeth. I am a daughter of God, a mother, and a teacher. I have other roles as well, but those top my list and those are enough… except for maybe writer. I love to write!

So what is this waiting walk?  Aren’t “waiting” and “walking” opposites?  Can you really do both at the same time?  If you’re anything like me, you don’t like the idea of waiting.  Waiting is boring – let’s get on with some action already!  Why, then, do so many Bible verses use the phrase “wait on the Lord”?  Then there’s this idea of walking.  We walk with God.  We run the race.  This is more my style.  But when it comes down to it, the walk with Christ is no ordinary walk.  We are told to “walk worthy” and to “walk in the same manner as He walked.”  That is a pretty high calling.  Both of these themes run throughout the Bible, from front to back, Old Testament and New.  They run throughout the Bible because we are supposed to do them both – at the same time.  This is a challenge for me.  To walk with God and yet wait on Him at the same time?  It is possible.  It is essential.  It is how God expects us to live.

And so I hope to share a little of life here, part of my intentional journey of practically walking with God while actively waiting on Him.  It is certainly far from perfect, but God is somehow still able to work with that.  I hope my experiences can somehow help you on your journey with God as well.

So browse around.  Leave some feedback.  If you have some ideas to divulge, a passage to share, or a story to acquaint us with, please do so.  We can learn from each other.  We can grow together.  We can bless one another.  Above all, we can seek to be intentional about practically walking with God while actively waiting on Him.

Blessings as you journey on.

Elizabeth

  1. Hi Elizabeth, I just discovered your wonderful blog in a roundabout way. You’d commented on Lisa Wang’s post, I followed you to your page and scrolled down a bit, discovering your “Hagar” blog. I’m going to go back and eventually catch up. (Don’t know how many you have. lol) I’m looking forward to being a regular “listener.” God bless you and your kids. ❤️
