The Waiting Walk

An intentional journey of practically walking with God while actively waiting on Him.

A Prayer for YOU

Ephesians 3:14-21

14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.

Paul has just finished telling how the Gentiles and Jews are all part of one unified body, saved by the blood of Jesus and destined for life together forever as equals.

1I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

Unlimited resources… you can’t overtax the Lord! Inner strength… what a promise!

17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.

Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

Do you want Him to make His home in your heart? Then trust in Him. Let your roots grow down deep and strong in faith into Jesus, and strength will flow.

18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

It’s a prayer for us all for sure, but is it really possible for us to even begin to understand how amazing, how big, how inclusive God’s love is? But we must try. We must.

19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.

Not just know about it. No. Experience it. Feel it. Be INSIDE of it.

Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Complete. Enough. Satisfactory. With all the fullness – not just a little bit – of LIFE and POWER from God. Wow. Just wow.

20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

But none of this is you. Or me. No. All of this is God. 100%. No exceptions. And He, with His unlimited power, chooses to use that power IN US to do great things that are so far beyond our wildest imaginations that we can’t even ask for it or even think of it happening. He wants to, and is ready to, do these astounding things IN US and THROUGH US! What a privilege.

21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

Amen, and amen. All generations – that means you and me.

Just my thoughts as I read through this section from the NLT for the first time.
